That exact same car was My wife’s one and only brand new car she ever bought and that thing was great on gas plus the 5 speed made it go pretty good for a cheap 4 cylinder lol. Ahhh the good old days.

How many miles?

When I was a kid back in the '60s our family car was a trusty 1960 Mercury Comet station wagon like the one in the video, except she was a 6 cyl. She was a great all- round car : Very dependable, a real work horse. Unlike today's sleek jelly bean cars it was easy for grandma to get in and out. Carried the family or folded the back seat down for cargo. We went to Florida for vacation in it a bunch of times from Atlanta ; I remember cruisin' down old highway 41 at 50mph, we kids counting the cows or sleeping in the back. No AC, just rolled down the windows and opened the side vents. She served us well for many years. I miss that old Comet, it was like part of the family.

Like the detailing with the red and black hi-lights. The 304 is a V 8, but at the bottom of the food chain, it still has some go to it. Have a 73 AMX, 401 go pac. Not the horse power it had in early 71, but still shows some authority going through the gears. Any AMC's around today are a rare breed.

And it just so happens that that search coincided with the Ford Galaxie 500 Coupe of the same period, and, from what I have observed, the Mercury Marquis and Grand Marquis Brougham Coupe is still the same Mercury Monterey. Is it just me or some of these classic gems becoming affordable? I think this generation X is more into 80 sports cars they couldn’t afford a high school which is great for me even though I’m younger I wanted a 40 or 50s classic American bistro along time.
